He is preparing

“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?”

“I the Lord search the heart

    and examine the mind,

to reward each person according to their conduct,

according to what their deeds deserve.”

Jeremiah 17:9,10

Something that excites Lord and is important for him is the heart of man. God knows our future and destiny. He knows every little detail of our life. God deals with the heart of man. Proverbs says that it is out of the heart of man; the issues of life flows. The words of man reveal the condition of heart.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Proverbs 4:23

We all are familiar with the story we find in Pentateuch that is God leading Israelites out of Egypt, guiding them through the wilderness towards the promised land. We all know that journey to promised land was not as long the time it took for Israelites to reach. Didn’t God know that they were worn out because of the slavery in Egypt? Didn’t he know about the conditions? Wasn’t he mindful about them inheriting promised land and eating the fruits of the land. God was mindful about it. God wanted them to inherit promised land. He never wanted them to suffer. I can write this because of the fact that God did not leave Israelites in the wilderness even after rebellion during each step. God could allow them and their generations to die in the wilderness because of everything they did. God did not do that. Instead, he dealt with their heart during this wilderness.

God knew that they were in slavery and that has left an impact in their heart. Their hearts were crusted and God needed to remove that. Their hearts were crusted with fear, unbelief, doubts, backsliding, insecurity, tiredness, rebellion. In short; their hearts were hardened. God had to take them through a journey in order to remove crust from their heart. He needed to humble them so that they will not be filled with pride when they inherit the promised land. The condition of their heart was clean from every word they spoke during the times they face difficulty.

The journey they went through was God’s way to save and prepare them for the future. They needed to be strong and courageous. Their hearts were required to be free from any kind of unbelief. They needed to keep God’s command in order for their plans to be successful. One’s heart needs to be free from every fear, doubt, unbelief in order to walk in the obedience of Lord in every circumstance of their life.

Is there any father who does not want to give best to their children?

He is our heavenly father. He wants the best for us. He needs to discipline us like a father discipline his children.

Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

Deuteronomy 8:5

How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God, how vast is their sum! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand– when I awake, I am still with you.

Psalm 139: 17,18

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Psalms 55:8,9

Many of us are walking through these wilderness experiences, waiting for his promises to come to pass. I am sure that everything promised by God will come to pass but all that we need to do is to prepare our heart and allow God to clean us so that we can be ready to inherit everything that God has for us.

Prayer: Dear heavenly father, forgive me for the times I did not allow you to work in my heart. Lord, take my heart. Clean me and purify my heart. Prepare me for everything you have Lord. I fix my heart on you. In Jesus name, Amen

Maybe you are reading this and never knew about the Lord who is a compassionate and loving father who discipline and cleanses us; want to give your life to him; Read this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and forgive my sins. I receive you as my savior who died and was resurrected for me. Come and do what you want to do in my life. I surrender my heart, mind, and soul to you. In Jesus name, Amen.

“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Heb. 13:20-21)

Waiting

Merriam-Webster defines waiting as staying in a place of expectation. In this generation where instant is the new normal; people find it hard to wait if it is extended beyond their expected time. We want everything instant whether it is food or anything else during our daily routine. Scripture teaches us to wait while the… Read More
