God’s Plan

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

In this article, something that I want to reflect upon is the plans of God for our life. We all are familiar with the verse from the book of Jeremiah that gives us hope even during the hopeless times. The year 2020 has been hard for all of us. Many of us are waiting for the next year to arrive as soon as possible. Some are waiting for the upcoming year with new hope while others are still trying to recover from 2020. I believe 2020 has not been spiritually bad for people as it has brought many closer to God and there had been a wave of revival in every nation. God has expanded many of us spiritually.

God’s plan during the darkest hours

It is during the darkest hours; our faith is sometimes shaken. While everything feels to be shaken and darkness is covering; we can still keep our hope fixed on Jesus Christ; our savior. It was in the silent night when all were busy in their errands; the birth of our savior took place. It was the fulfilment of Lord’s plan for our life. Our God is working even when we feel hopeless. He never slumbers nor sleep. During these times; he is fixing it all together.

He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Psalm 121:3-4

Remember Joseph?

We all are familiar with the story of Joseph and all the struggles he went through. His journey towards the promises of God was not easy but God turned the tables around for him and all that was happening with him was taking him towards the fulfilment of Lord’s plan for his life.

David as King

God took a shepherd boy who just use to tend sheep and used to fight with lions and bears who tried to steal his sheep. God anointed him as king over Israel. If I keep myself in that picture while David was anointed by Samuel; I would have thought that a shepherd boy can not take care of a nation. One needs a lot of wisdom and ability to be the king. His journey as shepherd boy and the battles he fought after being anointed as king was preparing him to be the king over the nation.

Never underestimate the things that God can do in your life and through you. He can bring life out of dead bones. He can cause deserted places to bloom.

His plans are eternal

God works everything for good and according to his eternal plan. Your life is a part of his eternal plan and everything that happens in and around you is working for the fulfilment of his eternal plan. As Joseph said to his brothers “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” – Genesis 50:20

Never doubt the plans of God irrespective of all that world has to offer you. As for God, his ways are perfect and his promises are true. His words are refined. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. His ways are perfect. He is able to turn tables upside down in favor of his beloved children. He can set the captive free and establish them as king. He can take a stranger from a foreign land to fulfill his plans. He is able to do impossible.

And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. – Psalm 12:6

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:11-14

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.  “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

Many a times we want God’s promises for our life to be completed but do not want to go through the smaller steps that we need to take. Sometimes journey might look long and seems like we are nowhere but it is during these steps we need to trust that God is taking us ahead at every step that we take. Everyday is new and is an opportunity for us to reach where God wants us to be. There is a hope and future in his plans. His plans are good and not to harm us but to establish us.

Trust God’s plan in the processes of life

Prayer: Dear heavenly father, I pray for my beloved readers that you will open up their eyes towards your perfect plans. I pray Lord that they shall be the people who walks with your vision and trust you even during their darkest hours. Lord, if anyone who has lost their hope; daddy I pray that you restore their hope in you. Bless them in every season of their life. In Jesus name, Amen.

Maybe you are reading this and never knew about the Lord who is a compassionate and loving father and want to give your life to him; Read this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and forgive my sins. I receive you as my savior who died and was resurrected for me. Come and do what you want to do in my life. I surrender my heart, mind, and soul to you. In Jesus name, Amen.

“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Heb. 13:20-21)
